
By Rolynda Jonathan Financial Intelligence Units and related agencies in the Micronesian region gathered together in Palau to further enhance the anti-laundering and countering the financing of terrorism framework in the region. During the four-day training held at the Ngarachamayong Cutural Center, participating agencies shared information and initiatives for improvement. John Tarkong Jr, Chief of Palau's Division of Customs expressed that the training was an "eye opener" in sharing and learning from other related agencies in the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. The training was funded by the Palau Financial Intelligence Unit and AUSTRAC.
